Airlines housing scheme is on Khayaban-e-Amin which is a road starting from Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital and going to Raiwind Road. This road has grab attraction of many people and many housing societies. There are also other famous housing societies on that road which are Wapda Town, Nasheman-e-Iqbal, and OPF etc. But if we are coming from Shuakat Khanam Hospital then this Airlines housing scheme is the first one to come. There is a University of Central Punjab at corner of that main road and Airlines housing scheme is attached with it.
This is a property of famous name ‘Seth Abid’ which has further sold out the property to people, who constructed houses and live there. It is still believed that most of the property is still in hands of ‘Seth Abid’ or his relatives. There are few options of plots who are for sale.
This is not a co-operative society and one has to do registry of plot while buying it. Further there is a village at one side of housing scheme which gives a little low value to those houses who are near to it. Village has got the way from this housing society plus there is another housing society ‘Architect’ in it’s neighbor whose main road also goes through from this housing scheme.
Life at Airlines Housing Scheme:
It has an excellent location if someone is thinking to construct new house or shift in Lahore. Now after expansion of Lahore this place is considered as a center point and it is easy to navigate in city through this point. But it is not a co-operative housing society and authority doesn’t seem much interested in maintaining the housing scheme. There is less maintenance as compare to other new private co-operative housing societies. Moreover whole housing society is not constructed and there are few houses which are mostly away from each other have less chances of social activities. Kindly note that it is not a big housing scheme rather a little community which has not more houses.
There ain’t any street shops but good commercial market at main road which is very near to everyone who is living in this housing scheme. Most thing which count and changes one mind to live in Airlines housing scheme would be it’s location which overcomes many of it’s weaknesses and make it a good place to have a life.
