Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme:

Prime Minister Imran Khan has recently launched an affordable housing scheme under the name of Naya Pakistan Housing Programme. This project was launched on Wednesday 10th, October. According to project details, around 5 million houses will be constructed over the time span of 5 years. As already announced before elections that these houses are meant to built certainly for those who can not afford homes at the ongoing market prices. Initially, these homes will be built in seven districts which are Islamabad, Faisalabad, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Swat, and Sukkur. Also, in the next three months, Naya Pakistan Housing Authority (NPHA) will be set up. Well, in order to be a part of this project there are some requirements to meet, which are as follows:

Requirements & Eligibility:

• Monthly gross income between Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 25,000/-
• People who do not own any independent property.
• One person per family is eligible to apply for this project.

Homes Categories:

The homes will be built in three categories i.e. labor class, lower middle class, and middle class. These will be offered on a 10% to 25% down payment.

Payment Details:

Well, there is no official payment schedule and exact prices have been revealed by the government. According to a news report, the price of 2 marlas and 4 marla homes will fall in the range of Rs. 800,000/- to Rs. 1,200,000/-. Banks will also provide home loan facilities on certain terms and conditions. And, the payments will be cleared in up to 20 years.

Registration Process:

The registration for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme has started already. For registration, you can download the registration forms from the official website of NADRA. The registration fee is Rs. 250/- which should be submitted along with the registration forms. The submission of forms will start from October 22nd to December 21st. The forms can be submitted in the selected offices, which are mentioned below:

Gilgit: DC Office, Gilgit.

Muzaffarabad: DC Office, old secretariat.

Swat: DC Office, District Court, Mingora, Swat.

Islamabad: NADRA Mega Center, Blue Area.

Sukkur: DC Office, Sukkur.

Quetta: NADRA Registration Center, adjacent to Helper Eye Hospital.
